Trump on Kim Jong Un’s appearance after his disappearance: “Happy to see him coming back … and in good health”


ATLANTA, United States (CNN) – US President Donald Trump expressed his pleasure at the emergence of North Korea’s leader, Kim Jong Un, after a controversy sparked by his mysterious disappearance lasting more than 20 days.

Trump reposted photos broadcast by official media in North Korea for a moment, Kim attending the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Suncheon Phosphate Fertilizer Factory.

Commenting on the photos, Trump wrote on Twitter: “I’m glad to see him come back … and in good health.”

This was Kim’s first public appearance in about three weeks, after global speculation about his health.

CNN reached out to the White House to obtain additional information about the president’s tweet and whether the White House endorsed the photos released by North Korean government media.
