The Kuwaiti General Administration of Civil Aviation stated that “75 flights are being carried out within the next stage of the plan to evacuate citizens from abroad, due to start next Sunday, in light of the outbreak of the emerging Corona Virus pandemic.” “The next stage, which is the first of five stages, will witness the transportation of citizens from 16 destinations over a period of three days,” said the spokesman for the Civil Aviation Administration, head of the operational plan for the return flights of citizens, Saad Al-Otaibi, to KUNA. The first includes flights to Riyadh, Dammam, Jeddah, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Manama, Doha, Muscat, Cairo, Alexandria, Amman, London, Istanbul, Ankara, Geneva and Paris, on board the aircraft of Kuwait Airways and Al Jazeera. He stated that the first day includes 28 flights distributed as follows: 8 flights to Riyadh, 3 to Dammam, 2 to Abu Dhabi, 5 flights to Dubai, 6 to Manama as well as 3 flights to Doha and one trip to Muscat.
He added that the second day’s 25 trips include 5 to Riyadh, one trip to Jeddah and Dammam 4 to Abu Dhabi and 6 to Dubai as well as 3 to Manama and 2 to Doha and one trip to Cairo, London and the Jordanian capital. Al-Otaibi explained that the third and final day of this stage will witness 22 flights, 3 to Riyadh, 4 to Cairo, one trip to Alexandria, trips to the Jordanian capital, 3 trips to Istanbul, and one trip to Ankara, Paris, Geneva, and London. And the Prime Minister, Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, announced last Monday that the government has finished adopting a plan to return citizens from abroad in implementation of the directives of the country’s Emir, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
