Doha, Qatar and Saudi Arabia nominated Saudi Arabia to host the 30th edition of the 2030 Asian Games, the Asian Olympic Council announced Thursday. While in 2006 Doha hosted the 15th edition of the Games, the Kingdom did not organize any major sporting event under the supervision of the Asian Olympic Council.
The Asian Olympic Council announced Thursday the nomination of Doha, Qatar and Riyadh, to host a tournament Asian games 2030.
The Qatari and Saudi capitals submitted their candidacy files to host the 21st edition of the games before the deadline expires on Wednesday.
Pointed out the Council to me That each city’s nomination file submitted by the National Olympic Committee is accompanied by a government support letter.
Doha hosted the 15th edition of the games in 2006, while Saudi Arabia did not organize any major sporting event under the supervision of the Asian Olympic Council.

“The Olympic Council of Asia is pleased to receive two strong nominations to host the 30th edition of the Asian Games,” Kuwaiti Olympic President Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahd Al-Sabah said in an official statement.
“With these two presentations of the 2030 Games, we now have stability and continuity in our sports movement for the next decade,” Al-Fahd added.
The council noted that voting for the host city will take place during the General Assembly on November 29, 2020, on the sidelines of the Asian Beach Games in Sanya, China.
2022 in China and 2026 in Japan
The 19th edition of the games will be held in the Chinese city of Hangzhou in 2022, and the 20th in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, in 2026.
The Continental Council explained that it sent a circular to the 45 National Committees on January 23, 2020, calling on those wishing to be nominated to submit their files before April 22.
The games were held for the first time in 1951 in New Delhi, India and the last in 2018 in Jakarta-Palembang, Indonesia.
Qatar is looking to organize the games again
In this regard, the Qatar Olympic Committee stated in a statement that “the State of Qatar is looking forward to continuing its hosting of major world championships and sporting events.”
“The Qatar Olympic Committee is committed, in light of the full support it receives from the wise leadership, to apply to host the 21st edition of the Asian Games … We were honored to host the tournament for the first time in 2006 and we believe that the time has come Come to apply to host it again to welcome all of Asia to our country. “
Qatar hosted the 15th Asian Games in 2006, in which more than 10,000 athletes and 45 Asian countries and regions participated, and it was a success with distinction and unanimity of participants and observers.
