Liverpool announced Friday that their former Scottish player Kenny Dalglish has been infected with the new Corona virus.

Liverpool said in a statement on its official website, that Dalglish was taken to hospital on Wednesday, for treatment on the impact of an infection that needs a special antibiotic.

The statement added that Dalglish, 69, underwent a test for detecting the Corona virus, so that the sample was positive, although no symptoms appeared on it.

The statement continued, that the former star of the team in the seventies and eighties chose to isolate himself away from his family for a period of more than scheduled, before entering the hospital, and also sent a message to everyone that the instructions issued by the government and experts should be followed in the coming days and weeks.

Dalglish took the opportunity through the statement to thank the British Health Authority, praising what he described as dedication to work, courage and sacrifice, which must be the nation’s preoccupation in those extraordinary times – as he described it.
