China adds 1,290 deaths to corona death toll: some patients died in their homes

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The local authorities in Wuhan, China, which started the spread of the Corona virus (Covid 19), have revised the number of victims as a result of the disease, and added 1290 deaths, bringing the total number of deaths in the city to 4,000 deaths.

The official Chinese news agency Xinhua, Friday, said that the late arrival and lack of accuracy of the reports led to the announcement of fewer deceased victims after contracting the Corona virus, noting that the Chinese officials were not a party to the inaccuracy of the initial reports.

According to Xinhua, quoted by local officials in Wuhan, the inaccuracy of the initial reports on the number of casualties is due to pressures on health authorities in the early days of the crisis that led to the delay in announcing the real numbers, or declaring inaccurate numbers, in addition to “Some of the patients died in their homes and there were no reports of their cases,” according to Chinese officials.

The Chinese authorities stated that the total number of infections in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei province where the outbreak began, reached 50,333 cases.

The total number of HIV infections throughout China reached 82,692 cases, while the number of deaths reached 4,632 people.

With its 11 million people, Wuhan has lived through months of total closure after the outbreak of the disease last December 2019.

The Chinese authorities face international criticism, because of doubts about the reliability of the figures it announces about the number of victims and people infected with Coronavirus in the country, especially after the closure procedures were completed against the background of the announcement of containing the spread of the virus (Covid 19).

A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman, at a press conference, Thursday, denied the truth about the leakage of a new Corona virus, by mistake from a Chinese laboratory, citing what the World Health Organization announced that there is no evidence to create this virus.

According to sources confirmed to CNN, the American intelligence is investigating this hypothesis, while China insists on its version of the spread of the disease in a wild animal market in Wuhan, China.
