LONDON, United Kingdom (CNN) – The British Ministry of Health told CNN on Tuesday that medical tests have confirmed that Nadine Doris, the Secretary of State for Patient Safety and Suicide Prevention, has contracted the virus.
A spokesman for the British Ministry of Health told CNN that Doris was in voluntary isolation at her home.
For his part, UK Health Minister Matt Hancock expressed sympathy with Doris on Twitter, saying: “I’m really sorry to hear (the news) Nadine tested for coronavirus. She did the right thing by isolating herself at home,” wishing her recovery.
To date, Britain has recorded 373 confirmed cases of the Coronavirus, as well as 6 deaths from the disease.
