In a preventive step against the outbreak of the Corona virus (Covid-19), the International Football Confederation (FIFA) announced on Monday that it had agreed with the AFC game to postpone the World Cup 2022 qualifiers in Asia, scheduled for March and June.

FIFA said: “After consultations with AFC member states, FIFA and AFC have agreed to postpone the next matches in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in Asia.”
These matches were scheduled to be played during the international layoff, from 23 to 31 March and from 1 to 9 June.
FIFA added that it is still possible to hold these matches on time based on the joint approval of the countries participating in these matches, in addition to the prior approval of FIFA and the AFC.
